Default MY02

The MY02 on my black CAB. Love it. Only would change it for some BBS.

Can anyone recommend a particular set of tires for the MY02s on a NB 993? Optimized for street driving as opposed to tracking. Thanks.

If cost is no object, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. Best tire but overpriced and probably more tire than you need for the street.

Best bang for the buck is either the Sumitomo HTRZ III or, if you like staying German, Continental ExtremeContact Sport, which is what I have.

The Contis sound good. Which size do you run on the fronts and rears? Would the following be correct?

Front 225-40-18
Rear 265-35-18

Well, I only own a WB so I can't help you on NB fitment. Sure someone else here can chime in, or search the archives and you should find your answer.

Good luck

Default Tire size

I am running on my 95 NB. I had MY02s and now RUF but using the same size tires. I have had Pirelli and Sumitomos.

225/40zr18
285/30zr18

So, ended up getting Continental ExtremeContact Sports. Spoke to a very helpful rep at Tire Rack who said could go either 265 or 285 for the rears. Benefit of 285 being more contact patch to the road and a fuller/squarer appearing wheel. This was seconded by my mechanic.

I just put a set of MY02’s on my 95 coupe and shot a video of it.

Went with PIlot Sport 4’s in these sizes:

285/35/18 on the rear,
225/40/18 on the front.

Love '02 wheels on 993s. On your '95 make sure you have a steering wheel rack brace to handle the 18" sheels...

No, but you can run them with a 32 mm spacer on the rears.
