The Carrera GT would certainly fit within wanting it "someday" - but that day isn't going to be my NEXT car (unfortunately).

And after seeing some spy pics of the 997 that probably won't qualify either. The pics I saw looked exactly like a 996 with a different nose. I'd still prefer a GT3 over a "standard" 997. Ideally I won't give up my 993 but who knows what the future holds ...

Probably another Honda Accord or large SUV like the Navigator. They will replace my current Accord and Navigator. Nothing will replace my 993 C4S.

but I'm NOT selling my 993 unless I get a 993 TT (duh!), or I go broke!

Audi RS4 (if I can persuade the wife to let go of her 540is).

Just passed on a CSL - dont think anything would replace the 993 although I would LOVE to get a Radical SR3 Supersport for the track...

Oh actually our next car is a MINI Cooper - to be ordered at the end of the month as a run around (promoting my 993 to 'weekend fun car' status!!)

I would like to keep the C4S for along time, then one of my kids can have it once they know how to drive well (and when I am too old). I'm keeping the S2000, too, for top down fun. The other child can have this one (luckily, the kids don't prefer the same car!).

In addition to this car, I'd like a 4Runner or Subie Forester or a pickup for hauling crap to the lake, and perhaps a Subie STi or Superformance Cobra to throw around and beat some.

Just bought a ski boat, but someday may replace it with an old Chris Craft or some other cool, cruising, wooden boat.

That's the ultimate arsenal for me!

97, 98 Carrera S or maybe a Beck Spyder with a Turbo Motor. I like the older 930's and the slant nose cars to. What ever catches my eye I guess. It will definately be a P-Car after finding out how expensive it is to maintain a Ferrari.

I have to move into my house and get settled first August 11th is the close I can't wait to start shopping for a new car after! I see Porsches and I cringe that I sold mine. C'maaaaan August 11!!

Well, I've sort of just been through this.
For me the 993 is not a daily driver though.

I have a 96 passat (the shed) for mile munching which cost us a bit to keep on the road this year. We therefore decided to replace it.
I thought about selling the 993 to get a newer/better daily car.
A 993 tt was not sufficiently different enough to my current 993.

We looked at a Cayenne S and very nearly brought one, but baulked at the price in the end.
We test drove a new Audi S4, but wifey was not happy to spend that much either (45k gbp with options).
Also looked at a new mini, bu thought they were very expensive by the time you add the options.
Wife doesn't like the look of the skyline, so that was a non starter.
M3 was an option, but starting to see lots of them about, and I like to be a little more exclusive

In the end we brought an Audi RS4, which is suitably exclusive, comes fully loaded with options, and should hopefully keep its value better than a new S4 would.
We also kept both the 993 and the shed (for the time being)

380bhp standard in an estate car. hehehe

Cheers,
John.

update: what I meant about the mini was that it is overpriced for what you get, not that it was too much for what we wanted to spend.

BTW, I can't edit my own posts any more, and also seem to have lost both my member status and my avatar
