I recently replaced my 4.5 year old Interstate lead battery with an Advance Auto Parts AGM battery. According to Consumer Reports and other literature, AGM batteries are a better bet for non-daily driver cars. Price-wise, the difference is minimal; take advantage their online specials and the cost can actually be cheaper. I paid $152 after 20% off and a $22 core.
Food for thought.

Wet batteries are all pretty much the same. Put in the cheapest one RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR CAR, keep it on a trickle charger and it'll go maybe 10 years. I change the batteries in both my cars after 7 years 'cause I'm ****. In Canada so use the Canadian Tire Eliminator line.

My '97 has an Interstate MTP 58/H6 per specs. 2-years old, on a CTEK, no issues.
FYI- Attempted (briefly) to pry cap off to check fluid level. Cap didn't budge.
Spoke to Interstate- these batteries are totally sealed, permanently, not meant to have caps removed.
