Chicago Trip'in Fall Fun Run
I missed out on the last Chicago Run that you guys had...with much regret. So how about another one? I received a request from Bob to another Rennlist/Pelican member about his health problem and the lack of time to organize another run. So here goes (I posted this on the 911 board..sorry for the cross post, but we want to make this one to remember!):
........................................................................ .............................................
Hello All:
The weather is turning, so it's time to get out in your Porsche and enjoy the snow-less days while we can and meet some good people!
We are organizing a day of carting and Porsching on Oct. 11th.
We made a run last spring, and it was a blast! Even got to drive our 911's on a 0.5 mile cart track! Well, this time we are renting go-carts for an hour and then making a drive (if we have enough energy after the hour long cart race!).
Here is a look at last spring's fun run:

How about a cart challenge between the Rennlisters and the Pelicanheads?
Here are a couple of threads on current developments:

Three Wheelin'
Souk,
I am up for it as well, had a geat time in the spring. A fall run up north would be great or the go cart track you and Chris found would be cool as well. Count me in!

We've got a deposit on the carts already and we need to fill ten carts.
Some of the talk has been to share a cart between two people, and we would run a hour long enduro-like race, with mandatory a pit stop for those that are solo in a kart (at least a couple of us are going to hog a cart to ourseslves) to make it fair as the shared cart will need a stop to for a driver swap.
Last year we got to drive our 911's on the cart track, so those that don't cart might still be able to have fun there before the long drive.

I forgot to mention, that most of the folks that will be going on the drive, will like be at Oktoberfest at Blackhawh! Come join us, even if you won't be driving...hopefully the beers lead to a final plan/schedule for the 11th!

Ok - the deposit on the track/reservation has been made - minimum cost is $1000 for 10 karts running for one hour between 11:00 - 12:00 on Saturday, October 11 but we have to arrive by 10:30am to gear up and listen to track management regarding R&R....
For those that are going straight to the track, the address is 3674 East 2603 Road, Sheridan, Illinois 60551 Intense Karting
Souk & Heather, how about we start the morning at your place as the starting point for a caravan to the track... around 9 or 9:30??
Lunch location to be announced shortly and maybe a drive afterward... "token trophies" will be awarded
will 10 karts be enough? so far we have committments from five very competitive "drivers" who's in?
That was posted on the Pelican Thread:

I've agreed to open up my "garage" as a meeting point before we head out toward the cart track. Heather and I are in Oswego (off Rt 71..on the way to the track).
We'll post more information soon.

Eric and others,
We'll be glad to have you!
Esther picked up some token trophies as well. I won't spoil the fun, but I will tell you that the loser gets a matchbox sized customizable rice-mobile! (Complete with Coffee Can exhaust)
We'll probably see many of you at Blackhawk, come by the Streit-Mobile for a beer, campfire, and good cheer. We'll be the RV with the Red/White/Blue lighting on the awning!

OK guys..
Looks like we'll be meeting at the Diner on the corner of Route 71 and Rt 47, the Silver Dollar. It should be easier to get to than my house. Lets plan to meet there at 9AM. Greasy diner breakfast sounds good right?
Hope you all make it...the karting should very competitive! Bring your helmets and a good sense of humor...there just might be some bumping! You guys know how competitive 911 drivers are...
