Default Bummer before the weekend

Last week on Friday as I was riding my bike, I hit this big expansion joint on the freeway that bent both the wheel on my bike. Bike is drivable though

Then, this Friday afternoon on my way home from work, a car in the next lane was trying to avoid a big piece of truck tire lying in the middle of my lane ended hitting another piece of rubber and caused thi big piece to hit my car.

The impact was so hard that in addition of breaking the windshield, it also managed to peel the rubber molding on the windshield. Plus before the piece hit the windshield, it also hit the top of the front fender.

Got somebody coming to replace the windshield with OEM glass (Sigla) next week. I will try to buff out the scratch on the fender and have somebody try to "massage" the dent on the fender with the paintless dent removal method. Hopefully it work since I really would like to avoid the bodyshop if possible.

Two straight week on a Friday!!!! I better car pool with somebody next Friday!!!

Very sad, but fixable. Now the important stuff. Where did you get the carbon fiber windshield molding piece? Is this a RUF component. Also noticed the euro side marker lights, sport seats, and aluminum brake handle, and shift ****

Actually, I am sorry about your car. The dent guys do remarkable work. If anything though, this entire accident falls under comprehensive, doesn't it if you want to get the whole thing fixed?

Default Fake carbon fiber

Bob:

My insurance is taking care of everything under comprehensive. I am just hoping I do not have to go to the bodyshop.

WRT the molding covering the water channel, it is Ruf part (polyurethane) that I covered with fake carbon fiber skin. Pretty easy to install since the skin is self adhering and only need to be worked with heat gun to help it mold nicely to the contoured/uneven surface.

BTW, after reading that Hank Cohn thread about the Moton suspension, I decided to go the Moton route (thru Steve W) since my stock shocks are due anyway at 30kmiles. Looking forward to the new suspension.

LOL,..Those A-pillar fairings do help at high speed tracks.

I had them on our old RSR and 935 and they were worth 7 MPH at Daytona. I only took them off when we removed the rain gutters entirely,....
