Not a bad thought.

The other reason I wanted them against the existing wall is so they don't push any further into the garage space than necessary. I just had the garage built and the 36' width is nice, but at only 24' deep, I don't want to sacrifice much in that direction.

Thanks for the comments tho.

Yeah, 2x4 stud wall with drywall sheathing both sides. The wall does support the ceiling joist, however, which are 2x12's and I believe hurricane clips are used...I'll need to check the blueprint.

I've been web surfing this topic and have read quite a contrast in opinion, so if I decide to try the hang route will probably put a call into my architect.

Or, I might floor mount and strap them somehow to the wall for stability. I was trying to maximize usable floor space as well avoid a big space behind the cabinets.

Thanks.

"New" much smaller place until I can find a suitable shop. Going from 9K sqft down to a bare bones 2.5K sqft.

I don't think I'll do much here but store cars and tools until...

While not in the same league as most of the pics in this thread, I thought I'd replace my previous POS contribution with this new and improved one. Same garage, just with a lot less junk. Next up is a scissor lift and new floor.

This thread is a bad influence.

Good use of spare set of targa wheels, unique wall art.

They accumulate less brake dust while on the wall than while on the car. It makes the 100 little bolts easier to keep clean.

Thanks!

I wish I could take credit. I actually got the "drum set in the shop" idea from Mr. Darin Fister during a trip to FD Motorsports.

In addition to picking up the Golden Rod and complementary pineapple, I also got to hack away at his drums which were temporarily set up about 3 feet to the right of the mufflers in this pic.

My garage is tight...

I have a bike lift but not a car. That is a nose of a 85 Suzuki RG 500 Gamma.

Super bright LED's garage lights, A/C-Heat insulated. TV-Stereo-fridge. Just need to move my bed in there.
