I have been told that almost all of these cars will suffer a broken odometer gear at some point in their lives. One has to wonder about mileage accuracy for many 993's, and more so as they age. Kind of like my SC where almost all of them had their 85mph speedometer traded out without records. Makes it hard to find legitimate mileage examples.

Service records is where you can find out if your car has the actual miles that are on the odometer and of course the condition of the car 👍🏼

Yea that certainly helps but many keep their own records for service, including myself. I hope that someone trusts my detailed Excel file for service and mileage readings someday! A car that rarely sees a mechanic or safety/smog inspections will not have many readings. This car has obvious mileage discrepancies though

I'm willing to bet that "25,000" is really "2,500" miles. Also the pictures look consistent with the stated mileage.

Edit: the carfax that is attached to the original ad has a more detailed (and correct) mileage history. It is also a 1 owner car so that increases the probability of being able to speak to the owner and validating the mileage.

You have to be vigilant when you have your car serviced. It is possible for your shop to inadvertently insert a typo on your service receipt which could then (possibly?) be propagated to car fax.
