I think that if we all pool our resources together, we should be able to hire a soon to be unemployed VW engineer(s) to upgrade our engine CCU so that we will always pass emissions. Just a thought.
Who's gonna blow the whistle on EVERY manufacturer over real world fuel economy that isn't anything like the "official" figures? The current trend towards smaller displacement turbocharged engines is driven by the need to meet fuel economy and emissions standards that can only be duplicated in a lab.

Looks like BMW's diesel SUV is now under investigation and there's chatter that the Cayenne diesel will be as well. How ironic is it that this all started because the Europeans came to the U.S. to see how it was that U.S. spec cars did so well on emissions testing?

I'm inclined to believe that ANY diesel would have trouble passing the tests without a little software manipulation.

Sure hope the Cayenne isn't investigated- got the same engine in my Q5! And I sure as hell don't want to "flash" it to run "better" in the gov't's eyes!!!
