everyone has their fav.
i have had forgeline, fikse, kinessis, hre, bbs, ccw, rays. all very good wheels.
but my favorite are BBS.
E88 may say not for street use but my PERSONAL exp is that they are find on street. i am in SF. i hit potholes a lot. BIG potholes. i use E88 on my race car, on my street car and once on my trailer ;-) no problem. i reseal them every 3rd year. never had leak issue.
that said they are not rocks. if you hit a berm hard or pothole, the barrels will bend.
i have always had great luck with E88. i have had over a dozen sets over the years. for me, i choose BBS.

This is what just went out to the vendor. Do my offsets seem to be correct for a C2S?
What is parts availability to build four wheels as follows:
2 front wheels 18” x 8.5” with offset of 49
2 rear wheels 18” x 10.5” with offset of 45
Centers are to be painted BBS Gold
Rim are to be of heaviest gauge BBS offers.

I went through a similar debate with myself recently and just placed an order with TireRack for a set of BBS RS-GT in 18x8 ET 50 front and 18x11 ET 45 rear, matched with 225/295 Sumis. Should pick them up in a day or two from our local warehouse. I was leaning toward the E88 but didn't like the center cap or the fact they aren't warrantied for road use. I went with the Diamond Black center vs. regular silver. I can't find a photo of a SY 993 with RS-GTs, so that suggests you'd be one of few with that combination. I could only find 1 photo of a Guards Red 993 narrow body (attached), which gave me enough to decide on the Diamond Black centers (I've always liked the black center OEM twists).

I could live with silver but not with the 295's they require. From my experience I have not been able to find 295's and the tires of my choice. So now I have sold two sets of wheels and I'm Wheeless.

Forgeline does have some very nice offerings. My price for the E 88 it Is a little bit more then the Forglines but not much. But like I said I liked several of forgelines offers quite a bit. So it's probably going to come down to availability of parts on BBSs part

Just a FYI, the RS-GT is 20 lbs front (8") and 25 lbs rear (11"). Tire choices are numerous in 225/295:
Conti Force (track), Toyo R888 (track), Michelin PS2, Bridgestone S02, Yoko AD08, and Sumi HTRZ3.

In what way?
RS-GT specifications:
Weight optimized by FEM analysis
Two-Piece Die Forged Aluminum Wheel with Titanium Fasteners
Milled Spokes allow perfect balance between the wheel weight and stability
Compatible with Tire Pressure Sensors
Clearance on most High Performance Brake Upgrades
Lifetime Warranty on Wheel Structure
2-Year Warranty on Finish
Not much info available on the E88 - this from the BBS USA site:
E88 5-lug - **Track use only** Forged aluminum center with backmilled spokes. Heat treated spun aluminum rim sections.
E88 is a race wheel not approved / warrantied for street use. Apples and oranges? I've probably had 12 sets of race wheels including Magnesium E88s, Various Fikses, Champion, Several Volks, and a few more I can't remember during my track / instructing days. All were trouble free, as have my street wheels. Ironically, it may be the street wheels take the harsher treatment - the tracks are all in excellent shape, where the roads here in the northeast are terrible (potholes that swallow Minis and Smarts).

I think it really is apples and oranges.
The RS GT is a 2 piece street wheel - if bent, you need to buy a new one.
E88 is a 3 piece modular race wheel. At $1500 a wheel, it's nice to replace a rim half vs. trashing a whole wheel. But they can leak, so you need to be prepared to reseal as necessary. A bead of silicone is an easy fix, but still.
I am sure the E88 is a little lighter, but on the street, who cares.
If you look at them side by side, you will get an idea of the differences in construction. Aesthetically, likewise, they are pretty dfferent.
E88's for me...

E88 is light but not a super light wheel. if lightless is primary gold, this is not the wheel you want.
they are very strong for what it is.
i bounced over every apex berm. not too many damaged.
