Control Bushing Question??
I am replacing the front control arm bushings today.
Do I need to separate the ball joint from the carrier or do I just unbolt the ball joint from the a-arm??
I dont want to risk tearing the boot on the ball joint if i dont have to.
Thanks

When I did this job in my 964 I left the ball joint attached to the wheel carrier and removed the ball joint assembly from the arm. So yea, you can do it that way.

Worked perfectly. Control arms are out. Two buhings out and I will be wrestling the rest of bushings out in the morning. It's been a busy weekend. I managed to get Bilstein HD's with ROW M033 & Tarret toe links installed. Once I finish up the bushings, it's off to be corner balanced and aligned on Wednesday

I'll check back on you to see how you get the rotor back in place, it was a true ***** on mine.
I finally placed the jack under the tie rod and lifted it and wrestled it until i got it back.
Now it's back to the alignment shop.
First one i too off the sway bar link and the ball joint, second one I marked the concentric ? SP? and fought it to the death.
Good Luck,
Denny
