CCU fan problem
Hello All!
Lately the CCU fan has been stopping I popped the CCU out, dusted it, checked for free spin, seemed to work. A few days later, not working. This time I left the CCU a little loose, and pulled it out when the fan was not spinning.(Tip, use a piece of tissue paper placed over the fan hole to diagnose a fan issue)
When I pulled the CCU out, the fan was vibrating/pulsing in place, not spinning.
Tore or anyone, is there a replacement fan out there? What is the volt going to the fan, 12 v?
Thanks for any help!

The fan bearings wears and the motor magnets weakens. New fan needed, Porsche part # 96465914800

Nope, not yet.
As of now, the original part is the only replacement.

I understand the theory and function of the ccu fan, however in practice does it really do anything as the entire concept of the ccu controller dynamically regulating cabin temps is iffy at best. I find myself just using the blower speed **** to do this. It's actual function seems to be to collect dust and log OBD Codes for our entertainment!

Yep, mine works. At least it di before the fan started its glitch. Maybe that is your problem, and you have overcome it with manual control. Put a piece of tissue paper over the intake when running, see if it sticks.
When you first crank up the car, the ccu does id the internal temp correctly. But as the air is cooled or heated, samples are not pulled in past the sensor. It continues to sample the stale air in the tube. This is compounded with the AC switch pushed in, as the light in the button will quickly heat that general area, and after a few minutes operation, the CCU thinks the cabin is warmer than it really is!
