I got them down to 399.70, I am on the phone with them right now setting up a install time. Just FYI in St.Louis they are on back order for 3-7 days.

Since I just replaced my windshield a few days ago, I thought I'd share a counterpoint. This should be just taken as data at face value, I am not in any way saying that the Safetlite option is bad or less desireable.

My car had an older third party windshield installation. The external rubber seal was curling up away from body at the 2 top corners enough to bother me. I took it to the dealer to get the rubber seal replaced. It turns out that the old seal was not an OEM part, and the way everything was glued together, they had to basically take everything apart and scrape the glue off to fit the factory seal. They also warned me that prying the windshield off could crack the glass, since I already had a small crack. Since I kinda wanted to replace it anyway, I let them try and indeed it broke, so they just pulled everything out and replaced the windshield and all the seals with factory parts. Since it's no longer glued, replacing the seal in the future is cheap and easy. Of course, paying the extra up front for the dealer to do it probably more than negates any savings. Also, since the aftermarket seal was wider than the OEM by about 1/4", I had a dirty strip around the edge that I had to scrub out.

So what's the moral? Beat's me, except to say that once you use a glued-in aftermarket installation, going back to a factory type installtion is non-trivial.

I never had a squeaky windshield and I recently found out why, it was glued in. The recent work on my car required the windshield needed to be removed. The shop was successful in cut the windshield out. When they went to replace it, an OEM seal was used to put the windshield back in, but it would not fit, no matter how hard they tried. So the windshield was reinstalled with glue. So are there different glass sizes? All the other windows in the car are in the normal factory seals.

Todd, it probably didn't fit because there was a bunch of the old glued up seal still stuck in the channel the OEM seal would fit in. It was probably a lot cheaper for you to just glue it back.

They had to scrape that stuff out of mine to get the factory seal to fit, a real PITA.
