Default Price for low mile 1996 993....

I am looking at a 96 993, it is Arena Red and has about 19000 miles on it. Apparently it is pristine condition. The car has Kinesis k28 18" wheels, H&R springs and B&B exhaust. It is a second owner car. What would be a reasonable price to pay for this car?

I would guess high 30's to mid 40's depending on options and location. I have a 96 with similar mileage.

George is in the trading range. A little more info would be helpful to narrow down a price opinion. C2? S? C4? Options?

That is very low mileage and if it is a standard C2 that is PERFECT, with all the paper trail, $45,000 is probably the upper end.

Arena Red is a GREAT color.

It is a C2 narrowbody. I also know the dealer that did work on the car. How much are the kinesis wheels worth?

It's wonderful to imagine that $40k will now get you a perfect specimen 993. Damnit I can't wait to pay off this Bimmer.

Mike,

About the Arena Red, I was initially looking at Guards Red. I wanted something a little brighter because my last car was silver and I got bored of it. Is the Arena Red kind of boring, or not to offend anyone an"Old Man Color". Do you have any opinions on this? I am planning on keeping this car for pretty much ever so I do not want to make a mistake.

Well that "Old Man" comment is pissing me off.... No, it's a great color, almost a Merlot deep red. The color changes in different lights, sometimes looks lighter and darker. Dark enough to look great, but not as bad to keep clean as dark blue or black.

I get a lot of compliments on the color. You've seen the car in question - do you like it?

Kinesis wheels are about $3K new. IMO they don't add anything to the price of the car but do to the "value" if you like them.

i would say Arena Red gives the 993 an air of 'sophistication'.... it is a classy color that usually looks better in actuality than in photographs.
as Mike states, color is a personal thing...do YOU like it??

I have an Arena Red 993 C4S and like Max911 says, it looks better in person than in pictures. It looks especially nice during dusk. It is a color for the "hoy polloys".

It's actually hoi polloi, meaning the majority or the masses. Is that what you meant? I've always thought of Arena Red as an understated, regal color, at least when well polished.

I have not seen the car in person. That is why I was asking opinions. I think I will have to see it in person before making a decision. I did not think I would like Guards Red until I saw it in person either. Thanks for all of the responses.

I wanted Yellow and I got one. However, my second choice would have been Arena Red.

Arena Red was the color that Porsche Cars North America chose in late 95 when they introduced the car to the american market. It is absolutley georgous in person. I wanted Polar Silver and found it but came very close to having an Arena Red car. In fact the one that PCNA used at the car shows that Steve now ownes.

I agree with all here -- you've got to see Arena Red in person for the best effect. That said, I offer a few representative shots of my car, taken in various lighting conditions, to give you an idea.

There are more/different pics on the web site in my signature...
