Default Front lower control arms

Hello all, greetings from Malaysia.

I am hoping that the gurus on this board could help me out with this one.

The part numbers for the front lower control arms (wish bones) as told to me by my mechanic are 993 341 017 01 and 993 341 018 01.

Have these numbers been superseded with part numbers that show 02 as the last 2 digits?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

hello, am no guru, but yes, 02 at the end.
The one for the right side 99334101802 is not in stock anymore at the factory.
but they will reproduce it with sufficient demand, one day

Are you sure you need new lower control arms? Maybe you just need to replace the bushings?

Many thanks geolab, Leander.

Now I understand why the arms are so difficult and expensive to get.

And man, I should have known about after market bushes. I changed the bushes on my Alfa GTV6 many years ago.

Will now go down that route and save some $$. Thanks again guys.

This might be a better option rather then replacing the whole arm.

Default Front lower control arms

I was contemplating replacing the whole lower control arm when I installed PSS10's back in June '15.

I called Sunset Porsche in Oregon at the time they were able to source them. Either the left or the right was in stock and the other was available out of the California distributor. Price was about $450 a side if remember correctly. Ended up using Elephant Racing Bushings in the end.

You might want to insure you have the part in stock first…it shows no restock date known. Also might be nice to know who made the part and what it is made of, are these rubber or mono?

Clicked on the link and the pic looks like they're standard rubber (stock) bushing replacements. China????? Who knows?

they are made by a company JL which is a German company, unfortunately they do not list exactly where the part is made.

Then they would be the same ones (JL) offered by Pelican Parts and maybe some others.

Unless that has changed, the factory Porsche bushings are made in Europe.

Hi all

So I replaced the bushes. I got the polyurethane type from Powerflex.

The bad news is that the handling of the car has deteriorated, very bad. This is not because of poor wheel alignment as this was checked by my regular (trusted) shop.

The car seems to twitch when running on a straight line especially when the road is a little uneven.

I have bilstien shocks (installed 5 years or 25,000 miles ago), so i don't believe that's the cause. The car used to run on rails, and I decided to change the bushes only because i noticed a little crack on the original rubber ones. Maybe I should have left things alone.

Friends have now shared their similar experience on other cars (audi s5), although I don't remember having the same bad experience years ago when I changed almost all the bushes on my Alfa Romeo gtv6 to PU ones. (Maybe they don't affect all cars?)

Can anyone here please share their before/after experience with PU bushes. Or if I should be looking at something else?

Help please. It's no fun to drive the car anymore.

I will replace the whole arms if the issue is with the PU bushes. Pelican has the Dansk ones. Has anyone tried them?

K K Tang
