Sorry to say, that's not news here. Most tires aren't.

I figured after I started doing the search and it seems like a lot of us are or have been using the none N tires. Just trying to clear the fog for myself and hopefully others.
But thanks for all the feedback

Ultimately, the factory would probably like to sell you approved air for the tires.

(Still get a kick out of the burned out, retiring Michelin rep a couple of years ago at Tech Tactics. When I questioned him on his N-spec religion in the context of the track/race cars he plainly stated that maybe I should get one that could be fitted with N-specs.)

I am running Conti Extreme DW's on my C4S in the stock sizes. In my opinion, great value for the quality and longevity of tire.

My main criticism is that I think they're a bit soft on turn-in, but I'm also questioning my suspension settings. I've used them at the track once, in the wet. Performed well, and you can definitely hear them when you're at the edge of grip - which at this stage in my driving education is a good thing

Most of my driving is on the street (vs track), so justifying the benefits of a more expensive tire is hard. These handle very well in both dry and wet, and wear VERY well. I would buy again.

Oh.

BTW I strongly recommend round black tires. This is the best advise available based on the initial question. Once you tell us what it is that you want to do with tires and what's important to you, the non-random advice is surely to follow.

I have been using Conti DW (not DWS) for several years on my C4S with full RS suspension and like them.
Tire Rack tested them against
Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
Hankook Ventus V12 evo2
Pirelli P Zero Nero GT
and they had the highest ranking.

BTW Michelin just came out with Pilot Sport Cup 2 in OEM size for the C4S. More track focused but it seems in other forums people are getting decent mileage for street use. Should be exceptional in dry and light rain, in heavy rain you are going to have to back off unlike the Conti DW. I wish they would release the Pilot Super Sport for the C4S, been asking for a few years.

I'm also debating my self what tires to get (996 holow spokes wheels) for my C2. I will try my new to me, Yokohama Advan AD08 R in the Skyline in the track and see how it goes. So far in street is fine. Another tire that I'm cosidering is the Dunlop Direzza ZII Stra Spec

Default Bridgestone v Sumi

I have experience with Sumi on a C4S and Bridgestone S02A on a cabrio. Both cars have modified sport suspensions, lowered, stiffer bars, blah blah.
Cars are not tracked anymore, just spirited runs in the countryside.
My preference for tighter handling feel is the S02A but at the Sumi entry price there is not enough handling difference to merit not going with them on both cars next time around.
