Can Synthetic DOT 4 Brake Fluid be Used in a 993?
I flushed my brakes and clutch system but I could only find synthetic dot 4 brake fluids out there. I ultimately wound using Lucas:

However its a synthetic and I read that synthetics DOT 5.2 should not be used. I understand the DOT 5.2 uses silicon and that ruins rubber. I looked at 4 different car parts places here in Calgary and could only find synthetic DOT 4.

Karl,
To answer your question. Yes, on DOT 4 Synthetic.
Here is a good read on brake fluids, if you're so interested...Sounds like your issues are more about availability. Why not internet shop your preference?

Why not internet shop? I like the feel of new containers in my hand at the store because it makes my pants tight.
For reals though, I live in Canada and getting most things up like quality fluids and such is a pain. I have even had some folks refuse to sell me stuff from the classifieds because I live in Canada. I had no idea that we Kanuks were so objectionable.
There are a few Amsoil distributors here. I will go and check them out.
