Default Rothsport steering rack bushings

No affiliation here, but a product I had looked for awhile, finally found a manufacturer and installed.

Tightens things up a bit - I have manual steering, a rack brace and GT2 tie rods so your experience may differ.

Seen here: http://www.rothsport.com/Products/Ch...Rack-Brace.htm

BTW, other Rothsport products I have used - steering wheel hub and crankshaft pulley are first class parts.

says a lot, already having solid tie rods, manual rack, brace installed and still notice a difference.
good, I need small projects to keep me busy.

I think one is more likely to notice difference with other rubber and flex out of system. Also tires make a difference. Just my $.02, maybe other way around?

hmm, I'll test your $.02 by trying both cars
one with solid rods and track tires, other with sloppy rubber rods and sloppy street tires.

Put mine in yesterday, went to the track today. Another piece of the puzzle that makes things feel just a bit better.

Had put these in and determined from the "play dough" feel of the original rubber bushings, that these were an obvious improvement.

How's the install? Fairly straight forward? I've heard it can be a pain

Thanks

Mine were a very straightforward install. That said, I didn't much care about preserving the integrity of the old bushings.

Is this needed for a regular daily driver?

Easy install. Just have to gently wiggle the steering rack to create enough room to get around the corner.

Just my opinion, but I think all (existing original) rubber bushings should be replaced/upgraded on our cars.

If you race or autocross and every bit of steering feel counts, then it may be worth paying someone to install them.

For a daily driver not worth it.

A great DIY project in any case.

Only took about 15 minutes to replace mine. The original bushes felt like marshmellow Easter bunnies.

Did y'all reuse the bolts when doing this or purchase new ones?
