I just called our local dealer and asked about my 1996 C2, bulid date 10/26/95 he said it was on the list. I am bringing it in this Tues. I'll let you know how it goes. Hay and a free loaner.

Brought my '95 in Wed.; it'a affected. Now have to wait for them to get the harness in (prob. a week).
Obviously dealer hasn't done too many of these, but said it's poss. a two-day job.

Mine returns home tomorrow morning (Friday). Just in time to see the newest interior pieces come in early next week.
I've gotten pretty sick of this loaner. Next time I won't forget to schedule one so I at least get some sort of Porsche, instead of a mini-van.

I got mine back today.
Champion Porsche did it, they said this was maybe their 5th so far.
They changed my oil pressure sender at the same time, but still it acts little weird (I think), pressure shows about 4.5 and suddenly, every now & then, 'jumps' little over 5...
Anyone wants to borrow their oil pressure gauge?

Mine is at the dealer. Just called them...they are working on it as I'm typing this reply.
Keeping my fingers crossed...hoping everything goes well...
Can't wait to get my car back. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
FF,
I have the exact same thing with my oil pressure reading as yours. It'll show 4.5 almost at all times and once in a while will shot above 5. It used to be pegged right at 5. I noticed this behavior starting about 2 months ago. What's your take on this, may I ask?
PK

Brought mine in on Thursday, they were supposed to finish it today. But, for some reason after the mechanic put it back together, test drove it, but the car started to make a strange noise when coming to a stop. Not good, so they're holding on to it to investigate. They better not have screwed something else up. Can't even trust the dealership! I'll be missing my baby this weekend. I didn't know I could've got a loaner porsche, damn, I wonder if it's too late to ask them.

Hey PK,
I was 'sure' changing the harness & oil pressure sender would cure the problem. But it didn't...
Unfortunately, I think the dealer didn't check the pressure (with the test tool), which would've give me proof that it's just electric fault, which I still think it is.
I mean, I don't see how oil pressure could change like that.
I'd understand if it was always 'low' but since it every now and then goes up (even though engine revs stay constantly on same figure), in my knowledge, that has to be something else than actual pressure that's changing (pegged gauge..?)
Any wiser people here, Steve maybe?
Dealer thought everything was ok, btw...
I'd like to borrow someone's oil pressure gauge and see if that changes anything.
First (today or tomorrow), I'll take the gauge out and try to see if I can get the needle to move freely somehow, and maybe hit the gauge a little (good ol' trick to fix anything, you know!)
and see if that does nothing.
Anyone near Miami bEach who could borrow their oil pressure gauge for few minutes?
Anyway, I'll let you know what happens and if you find out something, please let me know.

So, took the gauge out, removed the back but nothing you can do there...
Tried to remove the glass but couldn't fiqure out how to do it.
I dunno...
My pressure is 2-2.5 when idling (at normel) but doesn't go over 4.5.
Like this morning, I started the car, and while engine was cold, pressure was ~4 when idling, when I raised the revs, it still stayed about 4, maybe 4.5...
I'm pretty sure it's something electric, so I'm not worrying much.
