Me and the wife attended our first-ever Porsche Parade over the last week/weekend. Wow.
I had entered us in the TSD Rally having never done one before, so not knowing what to expect, how to act, what to bring, or what any sort of protocol was for these things. We were entered on the "non-instrumented" class since the 993 is, well, an antique.
We finished third in class, and I think there were close to 50 entrants in the class. I'd call that the sharp end for sure. We ended up 2 minutes 58 seconds off the ideal time.
Don't ask me how this was accomplished. We are even still talking to one another after the event. We do not intend to make a career of this (but it was kinda fun).
My wife and I did our first rally on May 2 with the PCA Inland Northwest Region. It was pretty low key. Through pure unadulterated dumb luck we finished within 6 seconds of the ideal time. We won, but more importantly we had a fun time with some great people.
Parade was great this year, despite the weather "challenges." Most husband-wife teams in TSD rallies end up talking to a divorce lawyer. PCA always has a few standing by at the finish line waiting to offer their services. You did much better than just finish 3rd, believe me!
