I was comparing my front pads (Ferodo DS2500) with the rears (Hawk HPS) and noticed that they appear to be exactly alike, and yet, when I called Cobalt Friction, they told me that Ferodo does not make rear pads. The Ferodo box is clearly marked for the 993TT but there are no markings for the Hawks. Also, both appear to slide into either front or rear calipers.

One more thing, I received 4 calipers and 4 rotors. This should be all I need right? No brackets, nothing, right?

I am not sure about these aftermarket pads, but the factory has different pads for front and rear. And, if you reverse them, you are likely to feel a difference. I know DJ did.

So what you're saying is that physically, they're the same size since they're switchable, however, the compound, width or something else makes them perform differently?

The pad sizes are different. The rear ones on the Big Red are the same size as the front std. calipers. The front Big Red pads are "taller" pads.

It's my understanding they do make rear sets.....As for the BIG REDs' give this guy a call or email.
