Amaranth Violet !
Dear Rennlisters
I have never seen a picture of a 993 with the above exterior color!
Anyone has a link to such a picture?
My 95 993 Iris Blue was originally an Amaranth Violet!! The first owner had the color changed !!
How much does this affect the value of a car ? any ideas?
Cheers,
Georges

Unfortunately, imo it affects value quite a bit.

I would agree too. People usually don't change the color of the car unless there is some story in there somewhere. Gonna be hard to reassure potential buyers that the color was just changed "for the heck of it."

Guys
Unfortuntely I did not have much of a choice when buying the car, I had spent 2 months searching for a 95-96 993 , all the cars I had seen were salvages (having been in big accidents) or kind of blackmarket cars.
80% of P cars are actually black market cars from Europe with unknown backrounds.
At last when I found a car that had 25K on and was brought brand new from the exclusive and unique dealer in the country.(1 out of 5 that were sold in that year). After doing extensive tests on the car , the dealer reassured me that the car had never been in any kind of accident and was like "new" except for the color...
I did buy it ,knowing that the color had been changed ,and paid the premium price of 40K for it. Knowing that If I had to import such a car now from the US or Europe it would cost me 20K in duties and shipments...in addition to the price of the car...
I was thinking of switching back to the original color ,but I do not even know how the car will look like!! I am apprehensive until I see a picture of a car with such a color then I might make up my mind...
Rgds,
Georges

Check out the car at the above address...
The front and rear comp have been painted inside out but not under the carpets...I guess in order not to damage the glued carpets.
Cheers

I'm hoping one day the political situation in the whole area gets straightened out, people I know who've been to Beirut say it's one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I'd love to go in the future. It's nice to know P cars are well represented.
