Default 993 in europe is P93?

I'm on Cornwall's site looking for parts.....I guess P93 is a 993?

Correct. I think it's understood that all Porsche variants begin with a 9, so they'll mention p86 for the Boxter 986, or P96 for the 996 etc.

But considering you don't really save any key strokes by adding the "P" in there anyway, I'm not sure on why some prefer this nomenclature.

This way of naming is because of copyrights enforced by Porsche AG. Headquarters have multiple lawsuits even against forums in Europe who use Porsche in their name.
