Bob these wheels are used quite a bit for drag racing in the import world...They are extremely light but I think (could be wrong) Volks real focus is the Honda, Acura, Subaru world

The magnesium 18x8.5 comes in under 13 lbs. The aluminum wheel would be about 19 lbs. Ther same size Fikse FM-10 is around 21lbs.

Personally, I wouldn't use magnesium wheels on the street though.

Actually volks main stay is in endurance racing.
They are a part series sponsor in the infamous Japan gran touring car championship.
currently one of the most celebrated and revered touring car championship. (by far the most active series currently)
inevitably, ricers do go for the enduro look... although the real benefits are the weight and strength of these immaculately built rims.
The porsches in the racing series use these rims in a bid to keep weight down... so do the ferraris and the rest of the higher spec racers.
anyways... not to be a stick in the mud, but i just wanna dispell the myth of volks (reys engineering) being a rice thing.

In fact, the factory will gladly build you a rim to your exact specs... the down side is the time involved. the upside is, i havent seen a volk rim that looks cheap or poorly made

Yup that downside consists of 4-6 months =[.

Also if you look closely at some of the rims F1 cars are using you'll see the the Rays Engineering name there as well.
