Looking at a 993 w/ Tiptronic S
#16
Hi Raab...
Part of it was that the Tip (in the early 993 I drove) is a four speed vs a manual six speed...and I just couldn't get the rpms I wanted at certain speeds. I actually found it more comfortable in full auto mode than in manual mode. I also tried blipping the throttle when manual down shifting but I still got that auto trans "dive/lurch" as opposed to matching the revs in a manual or PDK transmission. In a city stop and go traffic world I might have been more content. I really wanted it to work and I'm sorry it didn't.

Because you are dealing with 4 speeds versus 6 speeds, the rpm range to manually shift a Tippy is greater.
You can't begin to compare it to PDK, especially if it is coupled with Sport Chrono. That combo thinks and shifts for you.
