Default Because one is not enough

Hello,

I finally pulled the trigger in this C2 of 95' with 48k kms on it (30k miles) RoW after some time trying to contact the owner. Car wasn't oficially for sale but I knew the owner wanted to sell it. The car has been garaged last few years, owner just purchased brand new tires (fatty ones) just before I got the car. I also was behind, besides this car, other cars in the market 80's and 90's year but this one went out first.

Given the 993's arround here are very rare to get and probably doesn't exist more than 8-10 in the whole country, this was one shot of opportunity, so I took it.

The PROS: Car has already Bilstein coilover (I have yet to check what model it is, but it looks like it was installed so many years ago), and the ride comfort is like driving a old Cadillac vs the stiffer 993tt I have, O.Z. multi piece wheel (not sure if two or three piece, most likely two piece, I don't even know what model are they) but I don't like them that much. Side skirts are not my cup of tea (that model) however doesn't bother me much, gotta check what side skirts are they and what else models exist for the WB C2 to replace them. Rear wing is a Techart according to what I have seen stamped from the fibberglass on it, unless it is a copy of the original Techart which I doubt.

Car optioned good enough for me from new. It has sunroof delete and rear wipper delete. Softbacks (I strongly believe someone "shortened" the back as the height and shape is different now, a good thing because I want some nice RECARo A8 for it), all black interior with black dials, alu shift **** with CF and as well parking lever same trim. Not sure what leather it is (original for sure).

The CONS: This is good and bad at the same time. Is good for me because I won't regret "modding it" and will wrench a lot on it but bad because I have to spend more money, but no much problem, in my shop I will take care of it
It was originally IRISBLAU according to the owners manual where the dealer put some data when is delivered tot he first owner, (didn't look into the VIN info yet) but it was converted to some, unknown to me, silver color. Paint does suck bigtime. Car had to what I guess, a minnor accident in the front/lower part but I have to dissamble here and there to inspect and restore it like it should be when left the factory. I knew it had some body damage way before pulling the trigger but it didn't bother me much. Leather specially the door handle of the driver side is faded and the door handle plastic cover from iside is broken, badly fixed and scratched some vinyl or leather in the lower part. I believe I will go with some alcantara here and there We will see....

Some photos! And can't wait to put my hands on it

Excuse the nasty gap bumper/hood

Sunroof delete, full leather interior, plus some carbon bits make this a nicely optioned car. I would want to strip off the techart body parts tho. Looks like it could be a fun project car getting it sorted.

Diego,

That low mileage C2 looks to be a great acquisition! Nicely optioned, and ripe for a return to that beautiful Irisblau - far and away my favorite color! Have fun making her right, and making her yours.

Please post some pics of the interior when you can - would like to see the seats you're referring to.

Cheers!

Returning that car to Iris Blau color will add to the value of that car tremendously.

It's a highly sought out and rare color

Interesting find! I would like to see how the soft back seats look since you said they appear to be customized to be shorter?

The wheels look to be Amistad Type V and I agree they don't suit the car.

Nice find Diego! The last pic of rear fender/bumper looks like it was massaged. Notice the outward flare of the leading edge of the bumper looks very similar to a WB rear bumper.

Thanks guys for the positive response. I can update this topic in the short-mid time with the progress and what I could find when start to taking appart here and there if you all would like

As for the seats/interior shots don't laugh when you see the seats they look short and 70's look "race bucket" seats if you know what I mean but I will take few photos of the interior and engine bay and post them here. In the mean time you can zoom few photos and will notice the seats backs are shorter ( I'm new to Porsche so excuse my lack of knoweldge) but I believe seats are the regular soft backs?

As far for the color I didn't google it much but feel free to post here some nice examples yo guys might have saved in your files and try to convince my self to return her to original paint (I have confirmed the blue color here and there in hiden zones wher vthe poor/cheap silver paint is peeled off) but I have yet to decided what color go. So far I had two basic colors in my head, playing/dreaming to have in a 993 and one is a silver/grey color and the other is yellow. I'm a person who always liked best blue and silver/grey colors with a touch of titanium if possible, I love those tones. Black is nice but impossible to have it nice and clean in my town as is desert and very dusty (never rains) so is covered in dust after a wash in a matter of minutes the black/dark cars, actually my e34 M5 is black and is a pain in the eyes to keep it clean and decent look therefore the blue color kinda set me back to paint it that way but is very strong posibility. Talking about basic tones of colors what I do like about light colors are two things: let the body design and curves speak for them self and hide more the lil scratches and dust arround here. Even my friend told me ( he has a 911 and 997.2 GTS) that the C2 looked like a "fatter" *** than the turbo, he even thought at some point the C2 was actually wider than the TT lol but the color played in favor of that believe at first glance, darker colors hides the size and shape of the cars usually, I already have a kinda darkish 993 so having a lighter 993 is not a bad idea 😄

So you guys if have ideas about body "kits" (front balance/splitters/side skirts/wings) and wheels, throw them here to explore different options and give me ideas¡

Here are some Iris Blue Pictures.

No offense to the many silver owners (my 993 was silver) but if I were in your shoes I'd go for something unique. It's a good dilemma to have.

Thanks for the link. It appears there are two variants of IrisBlau color. I like the metallic one, however I'm still in doubt if I want another "dark" 993 with the Arena Red next to it I'm very strong on the silver/grey colors as I always wanted a 993 in that color tone, I also like the yellow in a 993, in short I'm between "silver & yellow" after that comes the original IrisBlau. I believe there are two variants of yellow for the 993? Or there were more?

In this photo comparo (took it from the link you posted) the blue hides a bit the shape of the lines/curves and makes the 993 "smaller" in the eyes against the silver 993.

I'm not sure what yellow is this one but I really like. Also it's wearing a RS/CS front balance and rear wing in a WB C2 appears?

I will post up some more photos of the interior/engine/seats of my C2 later!

As promised here are some shots of th eitnerior/seats and engine bay. This car needs a lot of attention to bring back to decent shape.

Nasty and dirty...I will take care of it. Also spitting oil through the chain cover seals and valve covers I believe.

Does anybody knows what are these black connectors that are unpluged?
