Regarding the Expel kits, they are pretty easy to DIY, just take your time and do it in a cool place. Invinca shield is another alternative and they have a 20% coupon floating around on this board if you seach for it.

9.0 / 40
rear: 11.0 / 52
rear: 11.0 / 65

Ill problay do the 9.0 40 offset and 11 65 offset. I have a 52 offset on my 10" rim right now and it rubs, so I figure another 1" and lower the offset and I should be fine thanks~

Are you looking to get Gemballa or something else? Vendors like Kinesis can do custom offsets if you need to go wider (I think 9.5 can fit in the front, and MAYBE 11.5 in the rear but the rear will be really really tight). Don't forget that you'll most likely have to roll your fenders so access to the Techart tool would be nice.

btw if you have 11" rears you should not go narrower than 275 and preferably 285 or over - the 285s are stretched just right; and with 9" fronts you should be looking at 235s or preferably 245s...225s would be too stretched IMO. just something else to think about when selecting tires as the 235 and 245 aren't as widely available as 225.

Thanks! I'm considering the MX's, that's why I asked.

The picture Mike posted looks like the Supra's.

Among the cheapo tires, I like the MXs a little better than the ES100s, way better than the 712s. I have 225 SO3 tires on a 8.5" wheel and they are REALLY stretched out. I'm looking forward to getting 245s on there. On the rear, I have 295 AVS Sports on a 10.5" wheel, and they look OK, but a slightly wider tire (305/315) looks like it would fit better (all 18"). On my Cobra, I use a 275 on a 9" wheel and a 315 on a 10.5" wheel (all 17").

I have 295's on the rear of my narrowbody (lowered with H&R springs). It rubs- don't do it. The only reason I have them on there is because they came off a 996 and had a bit of tread left. Stick with 285's.

Searching around for 295's on rear of a narrowbody, got a great price on a pair of Pirellis which I couldn't resist. For track and DE I will go for a set of 17", so no worries there. But for street use, will these tires work?

rear: 295/30-18 on turbolook 18" wheels

The car is lowered with PSS-9s, fenders are rolled (at least the little lip in the rear wells is removed).

Thankful for any advice or previous experience since I have not yet mounted the rubber on the actual rims!

The other option is of course to go out and get a set of brand new 265s (or even 285, which I ran without any problems whatsoever in the rear).

cheers!

Question: Does going to significantly wider tires than the car was designed with have any negative impact on handling?
