Stereo problems...possibly
My stereo consists of the following:
Xtant 604x 75x4 ch amplifier
Xtant 301a 300x1 amplifier
Focal 165W3's
Focal 136W's
Image Dymamics IDQ10 subsx2 wired parallel
Alpine 7998 head
Car stopped on me day before Thanksgiving at the mall. It was like the battery was dead. Replaced battery with Die Hard last year and replaced Alternator earlier this year. My P-Car mechanic says my stereo is too big for my alternator. Any truth to this?

Run a voltage check with the earbuster system on and off while engine is running at various RPMS. With a charged battery and engine running I get at least 14V. Fractions of a volt difference (less than 0.5) running in daylight with little running vs. at night with headlights and rear defogger on (aftermarket stereo but basically same power as factory unit). If you have a big voltage difference between earbuster system on and off you have your answer - earbuster system is pulling more power than the electrical system can supply.
(600 watt minimum stereo power? That's at least 50 amps draw - no wonder you're blowing electrical systems! Grow up and put in something reasonable)

Yellow--check your PM....I'm going to hit myself in the head if the 7998 fits properly in a 993. I posted a month or so ago about this and got no response and recently sold it off for 10% of what I paid for it thinking that I needed a CDA-9835....Send pics of the head unit installed if you have them as well as how you made it fit....I'd still rather go buy another 7998 if it fits.
