You can see on the top of the vid that this was 3-30-15. Stunning stupidity
My take is that it's intentional for some reason because he brought it to a stop, outta the road under his control.
Option A: Divorce settlement states his soon to be ex wife gets the Cayman.
Option B: Stolen car.
Option C: Valet attendant.

Flat out, leaving the light. Tried to come off throttle, carpet or something kept it at WOT. (The first swerving leads me to think they were trying to reach/unjam the pedal).
So they pulled off the side of the road. The engine may have still been revving, but when the left rear wheel sheared off, the car lost its drive. (I am guessing no limited slip)

Nope. Was the owner. Not sure of the cause, but he was cited. From a news station:

Not everyone should be behind the wheel of a $50,000 car.

That's one lesson to take away from a video posted by YouTube user Richard Stewart showing a Porsche Cayman flying out of control as it speeds from a green light on Prince Edward Island in Canada.

The sports car swerves wildly before smashing into the concrete median.

A wheel even comes off before the car finally comes to a halt.

'Just cause you have a nice car doesn't make you a good driver. Don't let your son drive your Porsche!" wrote Stewart on YouTube about the crash.

KHOU reports that police have not made the identity of the driver public but have said that a 31-year-old driver was cited for the crash, leaving the car totaled as it was towed away.

Amazing. Best part is the end when the wheel pops off and forces him to pull over.

Well at least it's nice to know it wasn't stolen and the moronic owner received instant justice, without neg. effecting anyone else.

His wheel must have been loose from the get go. That plus terrible driving equals a great laugh. No way a rim would just pop off like that if something wasn't wrong to begin with.

Don't think so. The impact with the median and it's curbing probably damaged the hub to the point that the second round of tail wagging was enough to finish it off. Looks like the right rear tire is no longer on the rim either. I laughed out loud at it also. It's still a waste of good car though.
