Post Desperately need ONE Bridgestone RE730 255/40-17!

I had a flat today on the rear after picking up a nail. No problem it can be patched. Wrong. Evidently the rim cut the inside of the tire and shop said no way would they suggest a patch.

Oh well, small problem, got to buy a new rear. Call Tire Rack. Learn the RE730 has been replace with a 750! Some tread pattern differences.

I only have about 5,000 miles on these and would love to find a RE730. Anybody have a 255/40-17 RE730 out there that they swapped off for something else. I know how you guys collect old parts in your garage. Thanks.

Costco has the RE730's in that size(at least in California they do). You might want to try their website; costco.com.

Thanks. I went by our local costco and sure enough they could order the RE730. The price mounted and balanced was $183 which was actually less than the TireRack. Now if I can just keep an eye on the guy doing the mounting.....Great lead...

Keith,

I hope you are not getting it mounted at Costco. Why not take the tire when it comes in and take it to a shop that you can trust to do the job right. Yes, a little more inconvenient, but do you really want to trust the guys at Costco to mount your Porsche rims?????

Just a suggestion.

Costco install a NO. . . NO

A friend of mine had a set of tire installed on his E-Class MB in Costco and ended up replacing three of the lug nuts.

Two of them broken during the install and one of them broken about 6 months later when he was trying to rotate the tire. The lug nut itself is not that expensive but the whole process of taking the part of the broken lug nut left in the axle is time consuming and expensive.
