I am looking at buying a set of used chrome OEM turbo look wheels- the chrome finish is horrible, so I am going to send them to wheel enhancement to get them stripped and repainted. I am going to get the centers and the inners painted stone grey metallic (or some similar derivation) and I think I am going to get the lip polished or painted silver. In your opinion, should I: 1) Polish the outer lip 2)Paint the outer lip silver (unlikely because it will probably cost too much or 3) paint the whole wheel some type of anthracite color (stone grey metallic most likely). My car is lowered with H&R springs, Midnight Blue, and has red brakes (figured I would add that to help the mental image). I amy just purchase a set of SSR GT3's, but I love anthracite wheels and they are very unique- plus the refinishing route would be cheaper. Thanks for the input, and sorry for the slightly off topic question.

I think they would look great painted Porsche Stone Gray Metallic, rather than the stock silver. I wonder if anyone has some painted that color so we could see what they look like? I've posted a photo of a Kinesis wheel with the center painted Porsche Stone Gray Metallic and the rim anodized.
I don't think the refinishing route will be cheaper, unless you get a really good deal on the wheels. Just an estimate but Wheel Enhancement's's price to refinish will probably be at least $200. per wheel.

Well, I bought a different set of wheels for a STEAL- I paid $700 for a set of OEM turbo looks with 50% Pirelli PZero's (no center caps)
. I am going to get the guy (in Houston) to ship them out to Wheel Enhancement. I am expecting to pay about $200 per wheel. I can't wait!

In any case please post pics when you're done

I understand that with $900 of refinishing and $500 worth of wheels I am getting pretty close to a different set of wheels, but I want something very unique that I won't get tired of and no one will have. I strive to make all my cars one of a kind, and I think I can achieve a look that I won't get tired of with these wheels and a few other small things. If I get something new but I try to go cheap on it and don't get what I REALLY want, I am never satisfied and end up changing it anyway. I think I am going to go all out this time. It will probably be 5 weeks before I get them back from Wheel Enhancement
but the suspense and mounting them up will make it all worth it. I can't wait!
