Default 993 Insurance

Haven't worried about this at all, have used State Farm for more than five years and my wife is now a State Fare agent, but it something happened, would I be able to replace my treasured 993?

After a robust long NYD drive, there was another special 993 damaged on the short drive, I started to worry, just a bit.

Asked my son who works at my wife's office if I could get an agreed value policy. Gave him the April 2015 issue of Excellence where the Market Update put the value of a 1995 993 at $42.5k good and $50k excellent.

Because I drive the car more than 2k per year, I couldn't get this value.

Anyone else able to drive their car (One trip SF Bay area to Seattle might off put me over 2k last summer alone) and get a policy that would pay what our amazing machines are worth in the worst case - total loss?

Check around as this does not appear normal to me as I have raised my agreed value considerably in the past year without an issues.

Good luck.

Check out a company called Infinity out of atlanta. http://www.classiccollectors.com/pro...age-plans.html

Several different usage/mileage plans. Very reasonably priced.

I had Leland West for a while on my race car and when I purchased my 993 I changed to Hagerty. It saved me $$ overall with multiple cars as well as my trailer and spare parts.

Heacock Classic uses Infinity as their underwriter.

Good luck.
His issue is that he drives more than 2K per year, not that State Farm will not raise the agreed value. I am at $85K with State Farm.

I have a Grundy policy with no mileage restriction and agreed value. All kinds of other usage restrictions though. I'm still looking for an agreed value policy where I can drive the car within reason. I'd happily pay double for the right kind of policy, but they don't seen to exist.

Even though I drive my 993 about 2K miles per year Leland West has a limit of 3K miles on my current policies but they offer 6K miles per year and more I believe. When I first got the car I questioned them about bumping up to 6K miles per year and the increase in premium was reasonable as I remember.

I have bumped up my coverage on my car with no issues but because of the market on the TT I am always under insured unfortunately. It's like keeping up with technology.

AIG has agreed value policies with no driving restrictions whatsoever. When I asked State Farm, they offered such a policy but had driving restrictions and said they would not cover the car at all if it was damaged while violating the restrictions.

I use AAA for all of my other vehicles but have a Hagerty Policy for my 993. They have an agreed value with now mileage restrictions. My insurance is cheaper with the Hagerty policy than if it was with AAA.

Take a look back at older posts like yours for some history (search). I did not go with a collector policy and instead went with my regular carrier that does my house and other cars. Same premium, agreed value of $85,000, and no restrictions whatsoever. In my area I hibernate the car for 6 months so the premium drops drastically for that period. Overall, very inexpensive for high coverage.

I also have AAA for my home and other cars. My 993 is covered by Hagerty with an agreed value with no mileage restrictions. Hagerty was much cheaper than AAA for the 993. Im in California and not sure if there are different rates for location.

Which carrier is that? I'm particularly interested in the agreed value without usage restrictions and premium reduction while in storage. What did that carrier need in terms of documentation of value, if any? TIA!
