Default 993 NA to Turbo Build

I recently bought my first Porsche, it's a 1995 993 C4. I am planning on doing a twin turbo build. I'd like to make 600-700whp. Does anyone know of any build threads or what I am looking at replacing in order to build the engine. I figure aftermarket rods and pistons will be a must, aftermarket valvetrain etc. Are there any other modifications as far as reinforcing the block etc? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a picture of its current stage with test fitting my suspension and wheels.

Seriously! Or save yourself even more money by selling the 993 and buying a 996TT.

Or buy that C4S to TT conversion that's for sale here in Marin for $80k: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...sf-bay-cl.html

I do my own work with my builds. Money will be spent on parts not labour. Has anyone built their own engine?

You will probably get some better idea of what is needed over on the 993 Turbo Forum.

600-700 HP is going to be very expensive, I would factor at min $40 to $50k in parts plus machining etc.

I know of a couple that including labour are around $100k builds.

By the looks of it, parts aren't cheap. Lol it would be cheap to throw an LS twin turbo in it and make an easy 800whp.. But it just wouldn't feel right.

If your aim was 400hp, I'd say go for it but for 600-700hp you'll be spending a lot of $$$$$ for just the parts.

I have a +700hp race engine in my GT2...it costs 45-50k and refresh every 30-40 hours...

Here's pricing on the parts:

The conversion based on your present engine is the best solution although it is a lot of work and needs many parts.
We have to dismantle the complete engine. We don t need a new crankshaft. We can use your original Zylinderheads but reinforced.
You can keep the varioram , better would be the turbo intakemanifold. What we do is also good for 700HP with 600HP you are on the safe side.
Following list gives you an idea what we need:

Reinforcement for 6 cylinderheads € 1490.-
1 kit headgaskets L-design € 360.-
6 inlet valves € 373.-
6 exhaust valves € 798.-
1 Kit valvesprings € 633,60
1 kit GT 1 -evo cams € 934.-
1 kit mechanical rockerarms € 1595.-
1 kit toothed weel for timing chain € 322.-
1 kit chains € 150.-
1 Kit pistons and cylinders 3,8 turbo € 3595.-
1 Kit forged rods H profile € 1695.-
1 Turbooilpump Engine € 890.-
1 Original console with oilpump for turbos € 1800.-
1 Kit mainbearings € 590.-
1 Kit rodbearings € 380.-
1 Kit special cylinderbolts for high perfomance € 1250.-
1 Kit gaskets € 750.-
2 Turbochargers with oiltanks and oilfeed and returnpipes each € 3200,. € 6400.-
div. small parts € 300.-
_________

Parts € 24305,60.-
Installation 60 Hrs each € 88.- € 5280.-
___________
total € 29585,60
============
If you have a VAT number we dont charge 19% tax

If you want new turbocylinderheads,we can provide for € 1590.- each. The modifications as mentioned are the same.

This is the version based on your engine. When you use a turboengine, you save not more than € 5000.-
as we have to do a lot of the above mentioned work anyway. So you can safe the € 15000.-for a turboengine
If you use the turboheads there is no difference between a turboengine and yours.

Any idea on the average price of a refresh?
