Default M030 question

Hi-

My recently acquired 96 C2 is lowered and has option code 030. I've looked at the decoding sites and come up with 'sport group' as the description. Is this the same as the M030 set up I see referred to many times in the forum? Sometimes I see suspension option ROW M030 referred to-is that the same as M030? I'm assuming it is but you know where that can get you. I've also seen reference to M033. Is this a more 'radical' suspension set up? Lower than M030?

Does anyone know what else was included in the sport group? My car has the factory aerokit as well. Wondered if that was part of the sport group?

I was going to hold off and not ask another 'novice' question, thinking I'd be able to glean the answer from the Forum. But I haven't had much luck in figuring this out.

Thanks
chuck

ROW stands for "rest of world" and has a lower ride height than the US M030 option. The US suspension is sometimes referred to as having an "SUV ride height." Aside from the suspension I'm not sure what else may have been included in the US 030 sport group option.

Besides spring height, bit difference in sway bar diam. Can't remember if shocks are different and don't feel like researching it.

In my little '95 Porsche "Fact Book" it sez 17" wheels came with the sport pkg also, altho 17" wheels were std. on C4.

The US M030 option consisted of firmer dampers, stiffer springs and slightly thicker anti-roll bars but did NOT lower the car from the standard US height. If your car was lowered by the PO, it is likely that they used either the ROW M030 springs or some aftermarket springs like Eibach or H&R. This is assuming you still have the factory dampers (red/orange).

Robin's site lists the rear bar for US M030 as 20mm and 18mm. Which one is it?

Rear stabilizer bar
993 333 701 03 Stabilizer 20 mm M 030 1
993 333 701 01 Stabilizer 18 mm M 491/M 030/M 495 1
993 333 073 02 Suspension/stabilizer 95- (drop link) M 030 2
477 411 313 C Stabilizer mounting 20 mm M 030 2

Thx

Thanks for all the information. All this time, I thought my car was lowered at the factory because of the 030 option code. I still have the red/orange dampers. I'm hoping I have the ROW M030 set up. I'll have to see if I can figure this out. I have the PO's name....

This is great! More reasons to get my car off the ground and get under there and just stare at it. My wife thinks I'm nuts. What's her problem?

Thanks for all the replies. I really do appreciate it.
