Default MY'02 wheels for sale

I've had my track wheels up for sale for a couple of months now with no takers. Today I separated the wheels from the tires and have the wheels at the refinishers.
I've got a couple of options and need some input. I can have them blasted and powdercoated back to original spec and color. Or,
I can go with blast and paint and save a little. I'm doing it purely for selling them as they don't work on my 997.
My question is this:
Is a set of perfect, guaranteed straight and true, basically "as new" MY'02 Porsche/BBS rims, in NB fittment(18x8et50,18x10et65) going to bring $1600? If so any takers?

Alex Magro is doing the refinishing. google him and you will see he has an excellent reputation for Porsche wheels.

I just pulled took the same exact MY '02 wheels in chrome (an $800 extra ironically) off my C4, and plan on listing them next Spring with the Pirellis (1,000 miles) for $1,500. $1,500 is a fair price for the refinished wheels, but your best option may be to simply sell them as is for $1,000 and let the buyer refinish them as they choose. Default Refinish

Rick: FWIW, I'd sell them without refinishing. Buyer may want a different color and be reluctant to buy pristine wheels and then have them refinished again. Also, there are opportunities for one to get a "nice enough" mobile paint job for $50/wheel or so and that may be adequate for potential buyer.

Am surprised you sold you 993 after so much work. Was it a good move, in retrospect?

Just my experience. I found a set last year for $800 that I powder coated for $400 the original Porsche Silver.

So I agree that I'd just sell them as is to someone who wishes to paint or powder coat to their satisfaction. Then you also don't have to worry about them getting damaged in shipping or holding up to the "pristine condition" challenge when they are refinished.

I sold a like new very low mile and never repaired set last year for $1400. When I bought them they still had the original tires on them. As a buyer a reconditioned set would be worth a little less than a comparable never repaired set.

That being said, I still think these are some of the best looking OEM wheels that have the proper fitments for our cars. I sometimes regret selling mine. GLWS.

Wow! Best price I've gotten for bead blast and powder coat is ~$700. $400 is a screaming deal.

I certainly miss the 993. 997 doesn't have the cool factor at all. However it does have Great AC, great stereo, nav, 100 more HP, unbelievably comfy heated seats, and a button that makes the suspension switch from "wife in car" mode to "Sebring" mode... Overall it's a better car for me right now. However, I have been trolling for a salvage title 993 to make into a track *****...

I guess it's probably the competition in the area (southern CA) that make's it so cheap. When I told the previous owner I paid $400 to powder coat he told me he could have had them done even cheaper. Go figure.

Default Wheels MY 2002

I have had 3sets, so I must have liked them at 1 time, I sold the last set a few years back to a SoCal Rennlister (Bobby ???) for about $1,100 as I recall. They were refinished to new, and straight and true. List them for a blow out price and be done with it. Let the new owner refinishvthembto their taste...maybe a track geek will buy them, no refinishing needed.
