Default Can threads disappear ?

Do moderators make threads disappear on demand ? What happened to the Canadian guy selling the 98 C2S for $105K CD ? He was getting slammed for not mentioning prior damage in his ad, now I can't find a trace of the thread, including looking in my list of previous posts. Am I missing something ?

It was probably deleted because of the drama in that thread. I remember it going on for pages rationalizing the misunderstanding about how in Canada a "clear title" means it's a title that is lien-free and can be transferred into a new owner's name. Whereas in the USA, a "clear title" means no salvage, rental, etc.... And, perhaps the OP requested that the thread be deleted so that he/she can take another stab at selling the salvage titled car once the dust settles and all is forgotten.

EDIT: I'm thinking of a different thread! (Though, that one is missing too!)!

The original poster can delete a thread if it is in the Vehicle or parts marketplace. I don't think they can delete a thread that is in the technical discussion areas. Mods can delete or close any thread they want.

Not the same thread as the one I'm talking about the guy was merely not up front about some prior damage. Wasn't pages long but someone posted that the thread would be a "permanent record" that followed the car. I think the seller took the money and ran( and had this site delete the thread) as his car is not listed on Ebay anymore either. Guess "not so much" on the permanent record thing. Doesn't seem right .

I had posted in the thread and just checked and it's all gone now. The op even said that he would not remove the thread. Looks like he had second thoughts...

The original thread was deleted by whom I don't know but it got ugly.

A new thread was made which the seller I thought described the car as it ought have originally noting the quarter paint and the undercarriage damage. The first reply to the thread was a newish member (I don't recognize) ripping the car further and beyond the original thread saying he ppied it and it had multiple body panels with fluctuating paint readings.

Then the new thread disappeared. Welcome to 6 figure NA 993s I guess?

Merry Christmas all! Santa should be coming soon, I need to get to bed!

Apparently the car sold today for his original asking price according to the seller.

I wasn't really interested the outcome of the ad, I just thought that posts in this technical area stayed so people could search and learn from them in the future.

I'm pretty sure it was in the cars for sale section. Threads in the technical forums can not be deleted by members but threads in the for sale sections can be deleted by the original poster.
