Accelerate too much?
As many of you have made your 993 faster, better and perhaps even better looking, I never knew some of the downside. As I have enhanced my 993 with updated wheels (sport classic), and engine mods ( rennsport software/ RSR mufflers/ K&N) I really enjoyed the added performance. I liked it so much in fact, that while driving downtown a few weeks ago I decided to give it some serious juice in first gear while rolling along. The car jumped of course with RSR sounds wailing over the city walls. Upon my quick exit to my parking ramp, I noticed upon my exit from the car that the left rear taillight assembly had completely fallen out, hanging by the wiring harness over the sport muffler tips!!! I replaced the light in the housing and fully secured the one screw on the end of the housing. I thought "Wow, that's ACCELERATION!!!" (could be a good ad for porsche) Moral of the story... keep your taillight's on!!!

I feel your pain!
I posted my woes (albeit minor) many moons ago about how I was "meatballed" at Buttonwillow Raceway because my taillight assembly fell off and was hanging on by the wires. You, my friend, were more fortunate as my assembly was melted badly after hanging behind the tailpipe ($117 lesson, if I remember correctly). The "moral of the story" is keep those screws tight! Either check them frequently or loctite them.
On a related note, I just did an engine/trans oil change and while the car was on stands, I took the opportunity to check all the screws holding wheel-well liners, rocker panels, and light assemblies. Guess what, quite a few were little more than finger tight . Just thought I'd share that, especially for those of you who drive your 993s a lot!
