Yesterday coming out of my dealership (Motor Werks in Barrington) after picking up a new Mobil 1 sticker, I noticed a brand new never been titled or plated 1989 Porsche 930 Slant Nose Turbo, with 583 MILES. White with black trim and Red Leather interior. This car was amazing, clean as clean can be. I guess the owner brings it in for service every 6 months.
The service manager told me the car is worth around 300K. Back in 89 it must have been worth around 100-130K. WOW! Apparently the owner deals with the likes of Leno and Seinfeld just to name a few. I wish I a camera with me. This thing was beautiful.
If anyone is interested in the car and have 300k lying around give them a call. No affiliation! Just Slant Nose Envy!

I think that Service Manager is smoking something- they are not that popular now as many don't like the 80's Miami Vice look.
Excellence just did a valuation of them and while I don't remember what the numbers were as I recall they were well below $100K.
Just think, for $300K you could buy a very nice 993 turbo, a new 360 Modena to use as a "Sunday" car and probably have enough left over for a plasma television or Caribbean vacation.

Was that the service manager or the sales manager?
At $300K, I would guess that the dealer margin would be about $260K or so. I would suspect there might be some room for negotiation in that number...

It was the service manager. I did think 300K was a lot...but then again what do I know. It was a very nice car though. There will be someone out there willing to pay that inflated price.

No I didn't laugh because the Service Manager is a nice guy and I think he even fell for what the owner is telling him.
It was bizarre that people in the delearship were wearing sports coats with the sleeves rolled up and espadrilles and some wore no socks with their white shoes. I thought I heard Phil Collins in the stereo system.

Those 930s had a prototype on-board computer used later in the 964. Funny thing is, you can only check the codes with a Jan Hammer.
Sorry...used that one before, but....
