I have noticed there are a few Dead (my fav) fans here. What music do you all listen to? I am young, so I enjoy newer bands like String Cheese Incident, Phish (I am probably the only one here), and Widespread Panic (from Athens, GA). I LOVE Grateful Dead, and also the Allman Bros, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Skynard, etc. Who are your favorites? About half the time my stereo is off, but when I'm in traffic or in the mood, nothing sounds better than a nice stereo and some Dead (my very favorite is the Fire jam from Dick's Picks 18).

I guess 1200 Grateful Dead tapes and 75 Dead videos qualifies me as a deadhead?
I'm also a Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy and Nancy Wilson "head".
But, as the bumpersticker says "There's Nothing Like A Grateful Dead Concert." Except for when I saw the Stones play their Steel Wheels tour in 1989 at RFK Stadium and Jagger took an elevator to the top of the stage and came out in a purple cape 12 stories up and sang "Sympathy for the Devil". Made the hairs on my neck stand up and salute!
I did see a Phish concert about 9 years ago at the old Capitol Center in Largo Md and they did Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein" as an encore that totally blew me away!
Now for the obigatory 993 content: I took my 993 out for the first time since doing the GDO "mod" tieing it in with the Targa Sunshade switch, and unfortunately, Ray Calvo was right! The signal strength sucks as I have to be right in front of the garage door for it to open. Oh well - it's still pretty cool.

Surprised to hear that someone else is into Dada. I never leave home without their first disc. Saw them once in concert at a small club in Philly and they were just as good live.

You know you're getting old when your music you grew up with appears on the Time Life collection.
There's website (can't remember the url) that tells you what the Billboard hit song of the week was during the week you were born. I had a work colleague in my old job that tried it but got an error message saying that the date was too old to be in its database.
I listen to a wide range of stuff but usually pop in a swing or salsa CD before I go swing or salsa dancing, to get in the mood. I've also realized that while Sinatra and Enya are great for easy Sunday listening, they're real doozies when you're driving the 993. The Top Gun soundtrack is a good cheesy one for the track!

Rush, and lately, for some reason Alanis and Dido.
I think I enjoy Dido because thats the CD I played while I drove my 993 home from the place that I (we) bought it from. Of coarse, it wasn't long before I turned off the CD player and turned up the flat 6 symphony.
Every time I hear Dido, I think of driving the 993 for the first time....

Lifelong Floyd fan, and even if you are a marginal fan I would suggest to everyone to see them in concert, just because their PA gear produces the most incredible sounds.
Yeah, I'm an old fogy, but I'm impressed with some newer bands, Incubus, Tool, Third Eye Blind. Nice to see rock isn't dead yet.
The Cult is good driving music.
Rap just plain sucks.
