^^ Agreed! Car used to have Koni shocks and Michelin shoes, all worn and in need of replacement. Wanted to try out stock…...

Here is a quote from the 356 registry on handling from a guy with a 356C:
however one thing for sure, dont waste too much time on modifications until you confirm you got good conditon link/king pin bushings, worn ones will make correct alignment impossible, wear out the spindle carrier, etc... old softened bushings on the rear torsion bar arm, should be replaced as needed, same for rotten old sway bar bushings. talk to several of the vendors on what they sell their customers, and what feedback they get. Ureathane bushings are more autocrossish, firmer feal, however the ride will be noiser, and harsher, stock new ones will give a quieter ride.

Welcome to the club……..I have a 97' Carrera S and a 1965 356sc.

Love them both for different reasons.

Wow....I just love those old Porsches. I wish I had more garage space, I would be learning and looking into getting one. From my extreme limited knowledge of them...an orange or green 912 would be the one. Anyway...really nice car...congrats!

Allen, Make some room! Porsche only in the garage!
I had started looking at 912's as a back up to my 356 hopes and now that the really nice 912s have gotten up there in price I went back to my 356 target and acquired one.
I like them both and if I had unlimited room and money I'd add a Pre A 356, 69 912, 73 911 RS, 88 911 Carrera, 964 RS, etc.. the list would go on and on as you see.
The 356 C was the final evolution of it and my favorite to actually drive.
You may have seen the 356 and 912 registry if you start looking into it. I missed out on an orange 69 912 a couple years ago. That's a color I'd like as well. Since you're not new to this, I'm sure you'd get acquainted fast. As you know, air cooled cars are moving fast, so jump on one now before it gets warm again and we have the next pop in prices.
Here is one for you: http://www.912bbs.org/vb/showthread....1969-912-Coupe

EC really? That's in my backyard!

Just yesterday I was looking at a 356 and was wondering where I would put it. I'm already maxed out with 3 cars in the garage.

Anyhoo, well done brutha

The C is a great choice. Sporty flat four. Fantastic handling. You can drive it at 7/10ths without being hauled off to jail if caught. Seams to be appreciated by nearly everyone (even granolas). Matriarch of the 911. A completely analog experience that will cruise at 80MPH and gets great gas milage to boot. Good on ya!

Absolutely! You've explained it better than I have. The car is so connected to the driver and provides a great driving experience. It's amazing fun to drive.
