Default Steering wheel fitment?

I'm looking to replace the stock four-spoke steering wheel on my 993. I believe the 996 three spoke steering wheel will fit, but I'm wondering about the three spoke Boxster steering wheel. Will it also fit? Are the 996 and Boxster steering wheels the same size, thickness, shape, etc.? Is there a preference among the 993 owners? Anything tricky to look out for when making such a swap?

Thanks.

should be the same hub.

I believe there are minor differences, but couldn't tell you what exactly.

If you like wood, there is a wood and leather one in the classifieds.

"Boxster steering wheel" can mean several different things. 986 wheel is identical to 996 wheels and will fit. 987 wheel is completely different and will not fit.

I believe the early Boxsters and 996s used the same 4-spoke wheel from the 993.

As to the later 3-spoke wheel featured on 996s and Boxsters, it was also available with a thicker rim.
