Default Alternate source for RS Kinematic Arms?

I have bought most of the front and rear RS suspension bits I need, but I am hung up on the kinematic arms. Sunset lists them as back-ordered with no delivery date, and they said that means that Porsche is waiting for re-supply from its OEM. I have not tried any other source. Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative source for these parts?

Besides googling like crazy, a short term option would be to get Elephant sports hardness bushings and install those in your current K-arms. The bushing is the same as the RS bushing.

Other than part number, is the bushing hardness the only difference between stock and RS K-arms?

Hey Stealth, I have a black 1997 C4S that looks just like yours. Turbo S front spoiler, Euro front bumper, front brake ducts and fog lights, and clear lenses. I also have the Euro rear bumper, and Tore's excellent LED lights at the corners. No tail at this time. I'm in Seattle.

yes

The Elephant Sport rubber bush in a stock KT arm will be the functional equivalent of an RS arm

The RS only used sport rubber in 4 places
the rear leg of the front A-arms - I'd use sport rubber in all legs
the KT arm
the rear leg of the rear A-arm
all the sway bar bushes

I feel your pain. Been waiting over a year since ordering thru Andrea (Suncoast) with no ETA in sight from Germany.
Will Elephant sell you just the sport bushings for just the KT arms ? There website indicates you need to purchase the whole kit ($400).

Call Elephant. They'll sell each unit seperately. I think they're about 80 bucks a unit

Bill do you know if the rear lower A-arms can have the inner bushings replaced? If so, do you know who would have the cartridges? Elephant doesn't have them for the a-arms. That's the last "rubber" in the back that I haven't dealt with. Was trying to avoid replacing the whole arm. Thanks

To my knowledge nobody has a solution for the spherical joint.

How many miles do you have on the car?

I just rebushed all of mine with elephant sport rubber, replaced the toe link with with rennline. Aka the Bill V. Rs+ spec.

Super easy to rebushed if you have a press. The only ball joint that was shot were the toe links, which I was replacing anyways.

Also, you can buy the A-arms from Europe or the UK for much much cheaper than the US. Just search TRW 993 control arm on the UK eBay.

Default ERP..

They are distributed by Ira Ranin at Tarrett Engineering. In my case, I went for the complete ERP rear links treatment.

I also used ERP for their version go the GT2 tie rods.

Ira is great to work with. He is also a Club Racer, so he talks the talk and walks the walk.

It looks like ERP has monoballs for that app, see Martin's post

I never looked into it myself, when I used rubber bushes I had purchased the RS rear A-arms, now that I am using mono-***** I purchased RSR rear A-arms

A friend purchased some mono-***** for that app, but I don't recall where, he never used them as the oe mono-***** on the leading legs of his were bad, he purchased RSR arms too.

The oe leading leg mono-***** can be useless after as little as 12-15k of hard use.

Elephant has sealed monoballs available. Might need to call to order individual pieces, the website lists complete front & rear kits.
