Post Radio Code Reset after wrong code entered

Hi,
I had to switch my battey, so needed enter the radio code. But I entered the wrong code initially. Now, I can not get it to display the prompt so I can enter the correct. I tried unpluging the battery, but no luck.
I waited over 15 min with it on and with it off.

Its a 1995 993 stock radio.
Any suggestions.

You might try 1/2 an hour. P-Cars are usually so much fun. My only real complaint is with the whole code/imobilizer/radio/whatever/turn-car-off-on-off-on etc.

The Germans are rather obsessive about the whole code thing--goes back to Enigma and WWII.
Cheers,
Chris

Assuming you have a Becker, you get 3 tries to enter the code. After each incorrect entry, the word "CODE" will display again. After 3 wrong entries, the word "WAIT" should appear & it's locked for 10 min. You then get 3 more tries. Then it locks for 60 min. before giving you another 3 chances. Continues that sequence until you give up or get it right. Something is wrong.

If you don't have the Becker (e.g. Alpine or aftermarket) - I have no idea, so never mind. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />

I had the same problem a few months ago. I believe if you hold down the function button it will reset to punch in the correct code. If you miss the code 3 times y ou will have to wait as described above.

Good Luck.

Figured it out. It turns out you have to hold the band selector for 2 second. Then the CODE prompt reappears. Entered the code and it worked.
Thanks
