I thought it was about time that I introduced myself since I have been hanging around for a while. I just got my 95 C2 back from a full repaint. A little history is required. I had an 83 ROW SC that I bought in 1988 and I sold it in 2000 when I got this car. It was a gift from my younger brother (yes, great brother, no more siblings needed). I asked him why and he said he got tired hearing me whine about not having heat or AC in the 83.
Anyway, the car was my daily driver for many years and I pretty much wore it out. I had modified the 83 to the point that my wife would not even ride in it. The new car was so much faster and more comfortable that I kept it completely stock and enjoyed it for years. I stopped driving it almost 5 years ago and it has been garaged ever since. About a year and half ago I decided to take care of all the mechanical and cosmetic items and start driving it again. Last summer (2013) I replaced or rebuilt the following:
• Koni Sport shocks and struts
• H&R lowering springs
• New rotors and brake pads
• Rebuilt calipers
• Tie rods
• Clutch master and slave cylinders
• Flushed brake and clutch fluid
• Rebuilt steering rack
• Rebuilt CV joints
• Rebuilt pedal assembly
This summer I had the car repainted, the seats redone and an alignment will be done this week. There are still a few minor things left to do and I am considering adding a duck tail. Once those are taken care of it will be pretty much perfect for me. Hope everyone enjoys the photos.
Looks great. Glad you decided to return to your 993. That was a lot of work you put in. The seats look fine to me except for the side of the passenger. It looks sorta stippled. Maybe just a camera effect. You can always upgrade your seats - many options.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. The car has 115K on it now. It still runs great, just a small puff of smoke on start up after sitting for a while. I bought the World Upholstery kit from Pelican and had them installed locally. I just like the gathered inserts better than the standard perforated leather. The stippled effect is just some overspray from some conditioner.
I like the stance too and would love some 18" BBS LM's but after dropping quite a bit of money on it and recently becoming a pensioner I will have to budget what I spend a little more responsibly.
Sorry Pirahna, it might be odd if I showed up at the next holiday dinner with a new brother.
