So this doesn't end up being a full-on witch hunt, the OP did not at any time in his very brief ad state the car was accident/story free. It is possible for a car to have been in an accident and still be in "impeccable" condition. Perfect/no accident/no story is another level IMHO.
Reading between the lines, an ultra-rare colour, extremely late build 98 C2S with 30K miles for $75K is cheap in this crazy market, Tip or not. I personally think the ad was purposefully short to open the door to discussion on the car which would then disclose "the story".
This, along with the Guards Red C2 posted by someone wanting to buy the other day, reinforces my thought that cars of this age with any kind of mileage very often hold a story or two. **** happens.
I adamantly disagree! Dishonesty by omission is still dishonesty!
Especially when surrounded with flowery BS!
Guys, I have never in my life had my integrity questioned. I see your points but my very first post requests anyone interested to pm me their number so we can directly discuss.
I guess there's a first for everything...and now the backpedal
I have been on this list for *gulp* many years, funny how the time have flown by... At any rate, on this forum there is a "decorum" expectation. It used to be a big deal been a "Rennlister" and the expectation that people have, which in my book meant honesty, fairness, full disclosure, brotherhood etc.
Sadly over the years this has eroded and we have had examples of "Rennlisters" that took advantage of others. Not cool.
I guess with the OP, what I would have liked/ expected to see is full disclosure. My opinion only, but not disclosing and waiting for someone to call to disclose is not cool either. Kind of a bait and switch scheme. Why waste my time to call you? I'm in the "process" of buying a house. The seller did not disclose a huge issue with the house which I had to pay $500 to find out! Not only a waste of my time, but a waste of money as well! If I knew the issue I would simply have not wasted time and money! Examples like that is what the "real world" is, it is up to us to conduct business with each other as "Rennlisters" with the full meaning and decorum of that label.
Disclosure: I have killed thousands of bugs with my 993. Phew! I just had to get that off my chest! Seriously, I was lucky enough to buy my car off Rennlist. If I ever decide to sell it I'll be going to Pelican and eBay.
Why does every for sale or kind of for sale or almost for sale post here wind up in some kind of fu$kdown? If you are in the market, ask the questions if you're not in the market let us interrogate you until you cry...

Agree - it frequently becomes a feeding frenzy; but it's a homo sapien's thing - we, being the most dangerous animal in the world with a very thin veneer of civility.

While I agree with the romantic notion that members of this forum should conduct ourselves to a high(er) standard, the blunt reality is that $17.95 USD buys anyone with a pulse and internet access membership here.
Thread has over 4000 views. Seems that Rennlist gets some pretty good traffic for selling cars. What is it they say about "Any publicity is good publicity"?
Now, I need to work on some sort of catchy story that will generate as much interest when I list my 993 in the next week and a half.
