BG?...Injector Cleaner?
I just got off the phone with a mechanic at Intersport in VA and he recommends BG Injector Cleaner for cleaning/maintenance. Any comments on this? At 22.00 a bottle...

Do you mean the BG 44K stuff? I’ve never used it, but there are good reports here:

Go to the “Additives, Fuel, Oil, Cleaners” forum and do a search. Here’s one example:

The only downside I see is the cost, but it might be worth it.

Keith,
I successfully used the BG 44K for years before switching to Lubro Moly Jectron and Ventil Sauber. The BG product was first recommended to me by the service department at our local Infiniti dealership.
My friend, who was parts manager, used to give me cans for free. I certainly do not think that BG is worth $20 / can when you can buy the Lubro Moly or Techron products for about $4.

I work with BG so you may not respect my comments but they are good safe products. Many of the major manufacturers recommend them and one actually installs 44k into the gas tanks of all new vehicles at the plant to ensure that gums and resins in the fuel do not form deposits in storage that will lead to early injector issues. They are all tested verses the competitive products and I will only say you get what you pay for in that industry . BG does not retail product so they are not trying to meet any fashionable price points. I know of Porsche dealers that use the products.

If you are using 44k you should only use it every 20-30k if you are using tier one gasoline which I am sure most of us are. If you are suspicious of your fuel or are dealing with high ethanol levels then you can use BG CF5 occasionally to keep the fuel system clean in between, which is less expencive. Also the best for storage and the lawn mower. Using 44k regularily is like shooting a mouse with an elephant gun. Not harmful but a waste of money. Or don't use any ever as some will surely suggest.

I remember somewhere I read about using Jectron and Ventil Sauber together ?
Ventil says every tank, Jectron being a longer interval. Not sure where I read (or think I read) about using them together at the same time at the longer Jectron intervals.
Thanks
