Congrats and I agree with you, get the car with as little hassle as possible. It is a beautiful car and know it will bring many years of joy. I have been looking for one to go with my 964 and can tell you, good ones are hard to find. I am getting tired of looking and would rather be driving. Cheers!

Well, it's not quite mine yet...
But I put down a deposit and should be picking it up this weekend if the PPI looks good. Red's not my #1 choice, but hey, beggars will be choosers.
I was thinking about going down the 997.2 path, but they just seemed so dime a dozen compared to this car. And all signs point to better resale value in the long run.
The details:
1996 993 Carrera
35xxx miles
2 owners
All books stamped by dealer from day 1
No aftermarket modifications
No paintwork
Mint condition

To be clear I am the village idiot on this forum, there are many real experts on the forum. I am not one of them. However, six months ago, I bought a midnight blue 993 with 52,000 miles that I happily drive daily. Since the day I purchased the car I am about three thousand dollars in the hole. Lots of little stuff speedometer, abs brake light sensor, electric motor on passenger seat, engine sensor for cooling fan. Oh by the way yes I did have a thorough ppi.
Realize I am not upset or surprised these things happen, in fact I expect these things to happen. You see my 993 is a nineteen year old car and I just feel that a car that tends to need a top end rebuild at least once in it's life means that you may need a little extra in the bank just in case. But, take what I say with grain of salt, remember I am no expert perhaps just a little parnoid.😜

I've owned a 911sc and a 968 - endured a top end rebuild with the 911 along with the usual high priced services of this and that breaking down. I can live with that. I just need a little time to recover from the purchase cash outlay.
