Default Brand new NLA Carrera 4S SS Door Sills on Ebay

I just listed a set of brand new OEM Porsche 993 'Carerra 4S' stainless steel door sill plates on Ebay. Item #2427841043. These sills are NOS (new old stock) and are no longer available from Porsche. This could be one of the last new sets available in the country. I know when I bought a set for my C4S a few years ago, I called over 50 dealers to find them and was told at the time that the pair I bought might were the last set Porche had in the distribution system. Porsche part number 993-551-980-05. These sills look great with the aluminum gauge dials, shift **** and brake lever handle.

Hey Steve . . . what's the "buy now" price to a fellow rennlist member?

Default Carrera 4S Door Sills

Yes, $500 is alot, however, they listed new for $299 6 years ago, they are no longer made and are period-correct for the 993, they are brand new and perfect and look great with the aluminum package in the 993. My neighbor spent about $500 for a set for his new Boxster from the dealer. If you are keeping your 993 stock and pretty much original, there are not that many options to add if the car is well-equipped from the factory, so what's $500? - about 1% of the value of the car. I spent weeks finding a set two years ago and had to spend $300 for those.

Beware this deal, I was bidding on these and lost. I was glad I lost as I had bid too much, (must have been drinking some of Robin's premium Scotch that night.) Even though I lost out on the "last set" in the world, all of the sudden SKM magically found another set and offered them to me at my losing bid.. (Must have bid himself thinking a Rennlister would pay just about anything.) Nope. Careful...

Thumbs down

Not wanting to jump to any conclusions here, but if that's true that is so uncool...

(Jimmy - btw I think Sachin Misra is also a Rennlister... but in any case a seller alluding that something is his one and only when it's not is just wrong)

Anyone with an interest in buying a set of authentic 993 Carrera 4S stainless steel door sill plates should do their own research to determine availability and value. These plates have, in fact, been out-of-production for years and are no longer available through the Porsche distribution system. I have done enough research to believe that to be true. I know how much effort I spent several years ago to locate a set for my car and I though I could save someone else the effort by bringing these to the attention of this group.

I also got a e-mail that all of a sudden another pair is now available, something smells bad!

I am amazed at the above remarks. I am merely offering one of these two bidders an opportunity to buy a set of new, no longer available sill plates. No big deal, no mystery, nothing "smells bad". All they have to do is say no thanks or make an offer. They can send another Rennlister over to look at them and verify the merchandise. But no, rather than owning a set of plates or simply passing on them, these people seem to get more satisfaction from making comments and speculating on this forum. Seems to me that someone who owns a 993 Carerra 4S and wants this accessory will recognize the opportunity to buy the plates and do so. If you want an original set, I just do not know where you would find another. And by the way, there is no "new found wealth" here after the cost of the plates is subtracted, along with the Paypal fees, etc.

No one forces anyone to make bids on Ebay and the "Buy it now" price was quite reasonable at $349. Anyone could have bought them at that price.

Yeah, you can argue "supply and demand" all you want, but what I see is someone trying to profit from friends, which is what we are here.
Here Here

I HATE spammers....We should not let anyone with so few posts anyway solicit Rennlist...

As to the availability...last I checked RENNLIST SPONSOR Gert at Carnewal still has them for sale:

SS Door Sills

So the stuff about not being available yada yada yada....PLEASE!

Im to the point of the "self promoting" threads need to just stop....Rennlist has classifieds and Ebay get plently of lookers without advertising on this site. I say congrats on getting whatever you got for them (nobody forces anyone to bid on items) but if you are stating these are the last sills around and then bam more just magically appear, that is not cool...I would rather save the server space for "group buys" that help the community...my .02
