Went up to Monterey and Carmel for the weekend and took in the vintage racing plus sight-seeing. Did not go to concours, but saw a lot of the pretty stuff in town yesterday am.
Every minute of it was photo worthy, including the trip along CA highway 1 both ways, it's hard to even put the camera away for a minute. I took lots of pics and there are a lot I did not take, like the whales jumping out of the water in Big Sur with hundreds of motorists pulled over in absolute awe.
So good to hear from you!
I especially appreciate the enthusiasm from a fellow 911 owner + someone who really knows how to use a camera (I'm just a hack), from what I've seen at 993Fest, etc.
Do you like McLarens?
Another P1 hyper-car pic from their corporate Pebble Beach display:
This $3.3M USD track-only car is an order option only for customers who already own a $1.15M P1.
As I understand it, there is yet to be an professional race class categorization declared for hypercars like this, the La Ferrari, 918, etc.
Likewise, it's not street legal, so McLaren Special Operations will gladly keep it in storage for you until you need it shipped to special single-marque race events.
Also included: driving experience on 6 tracks throughout the world, simulator training from McLaren, diet + fitness routines, livery customized to each owner's desires, etc.
wondered how the tire brand logo is oriented perfectly on all 4 tires?
...Of course, they could painstakingly wheel the car into place, then lift it to rotate each wheel independently.
Or they could do what I've witnessed as a preference at Pebble & elsewhere:
Start with 'naked' black tires, wait 'til the car's in its show position, & then affix decals when the car's sitting where they want it.
What had previously been 'under wraps' next to it was a Grand Vitesse Veyron entitled "one of one" that was custom-ordered by a customer in Singapore, personalized with numerous bespoke details.
It was parked amongst the only six Legend of Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse models ever made. They appeared in Monterey as the first & last time to be displayed together.
Even restrictions in front of the Pebble Beach Lodge itself can become mere recommendations for any 'ol 993!
Park your Porsche wherever you like for as long as you like -- just blend in with the surroundings:
Like mixing it up with this RS 4.0 that was on display at The Quail, etc., during the rest of the week.
