Default Rear Hatch Alignment

My 993 Coupe rear deck is slightly off center based on the gaps between the deck and the body. The slots where the hatch mounts to the hinges are ovalized front to back but not side to side. Is there some way to shim the hinges where they mount to the body inside of the engine compartment?

Thanks for the help

It's not hard at all to adjust. Just be careful with the clearance at the back between the back edge and the body of the car. I wrapped all of the edges, decklid and body with masking tape. Mark underneath before you start as a reference.

I am trying to adjust side to side, not front to back. I have moved it front to back but don't see a way to adjust side to side.

There is some play in the bolt points in the deck lid its self should allow a cm of side movement if you losen the 4 bolts

How much are you out side to side? Can't be much. there's only about a 3/16" gap on the sides. There is slight adjust side to side by loosening the the four allen bolts. Loosen one side at a time and pull or push the decklid in the direction you need to go.

OK, that is probably what I was doing wrong, I was loosening all 4 bolts at once and trying to move it and it wasn't really effective. One side at a time may be a better technique.
