Default Undertray debate: Engine temp measurements on 964 board

For those of you who are not sure whether removing your undertray has any effect on engine temps, the debate still continues on this thread on the 964 board. Arjan's differing ambient temperatures throws a variable into the testing. It would have been nice to see temperatures after the car had been run hard on the track, with and without the tray, to see if high speed air would have aided in cooling a trayless car.

Under Arjan's test, removing the tray lowered temps slightly. If he were to do a high speed test, I'm guessing (and I'm no engineer) that temps would be even lower without the tray due to greater air movement and higher with the tray due to less air movement. But would these higher temps lead to increased valve guide wear?
